As you know the Crystal Fire last April destroyed 13 homes in our community. With wind speeds over 70 mph and unusually dry conditions, residents had no warning of the impending crisis and some lost everything they owned. This event propelled us to develop a local network of like-minded individuals and organizations that can provide resources to enable sustainable rebuilding for those affected by the fire.
While not all victims have decided to rebuild, we have a unique opportunity to help and support the ones that do. By bringing together our collective resources and knowledge, this network can help people and communities achieve a level of sustainable rebuilding that may not otherwise be possible. While the immediate focus of the network will be to work with the victims of the Crystal Fire, we hope the network will be used to aid local rebuilding efforts in response to other disasters that might affect our community.
